A+B Gallery presents La plus que lente, Hermann Bergamelli’s third solo exhibition at the gallery, on view from October 16 to November 22, 2025. The opening reception will take place on Thursday, October 16, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM.

In his recent production, Hermann Bergamelli continues to explore new interpretations of his gestural and process-based practice—rooted in both textile and painterly materiality. The exhibition will feature entirely new works in the form of sculpture, painting, and embroidery.

“Tearing and stitching, cutting and accumulating, painting and erasing are the gestural counterpoints of the actions that generate Hermann Bergamelli’s works: a tireless industriousness hidden beneath the apparent calm of his canvases and sculptures.

In his new body of work, the key moments of the artist’s creative process—stillness and movement—approach the principles of Fullness and Emptiness, as described by writer François Cheng in reference to traditional Eastern art.

Bergamelli’s methodical practice creates Fullness through gesture and movement: whether it’s the accumulation of sculptural totems, filled almost from top to bottom, or the continuous subtraction of layers of paint that lead to the series Sottrazioni (‘Subtractions’).”
