Markus Saile

Born in Stuttgart, 1981. Lives and works in Cologne.

Saile’s work was featured in numerous exhibitions at key galleries and museums. Recently, Saile was awarded with the recognition price of Strabag ArtAward in Vienna. His works were chosen for “Jetzt! Junge Malerei in Deutschland”, one of the most important exhibitions about young painters from Germany at Kunstmuseum Bonn, Museum Wiesbaden, Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz-Museum Gunzenhauser and Deichtorhallen Hamburg. He has exhibited at Termporary Gallery in Cologne, Markus Lütttgen Gallery, Dusseldorf, Crone Vienna, Hardspace in Basel, Galerie Nathalie Halgand in Vienna, BMW Stiftung in Berlin, Arp Museum in Rolandseck, RECEPTION in Berlin, Kunstverein Springhornhof, and Galerie DREI in Cologne among others. He had residencies at CCA Andratx and Künstlerhaus Schloß Balmoral. Besides his artistic practice Markus Saile has curated shows like “Field of Codes” (PiK Cologne), “Face my booth by your ShotSpotter” (Hardspace Basel).
